Bio
Rachel Lauer (also spelled "Lower") is a Canadian website administrator/Editor-in-Chief and freelancer. She currently resides in Toronto with her hunky husband, two four-legged furbabies and no children (yet).
She began designing web sites in the mid-nineties as a homeschooled teenager. By the end of 1997 she had mastered HTML. Since then she has learned CSS, and worked with PHP, ASP, MySQL, Javascript, UNIX and Windows.
In June 2001 she started Christian-Mommies.com. "C'Moms" started slow, but picked up quickly in 2004. It has maintained a steady growth ever since. ChristianMommies.org was added in 04-05 and settled into a sister site focused on Ministry issues.
From 2005 onward "C'Moms" received mentions in popular parenting magazines such as Christian Parenting Today and ParentLife, and Rachel received inquires about purchasing Christian Mommies. Of course, she said "no, thank you!" Many writers and speakers have included mentions of C'Moms in their work, and their inclusion is very much appreciated.
Rachel says, "Running a large website, and also editing and writing for C'Moms, has been a great first-hand learning experience." When not working on Christian Mommies or any of her other website endeavors, she works as a freelance web designer/writer.
Above all else, she's a Christian, a wife, and wannabe mom. While waiting to become a mom has had its ups and downs, having more time to establish a work at home business in the meantime has been an unexpected advantage!
